BLACKWOOD – Camden County College hosted a transfer fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Connector Building Atrium on the Blackwood campus. Representatives of 53 colleges and universities attended to assist Camden County College students in their pursuit of furthering their education at a four-year institution.

Among the representatives were those from prominent institutions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, including St. Joseph’s University, Drexel University, Kean University, Wilmington University and Temple University, all seeking to answer CCC students’ questions about what their institutions offer.

CCC students including Kaileigh Blaker said they were excited to find out more about how to advance their educational ambitions. The public relations major said she hopes to transfer to Rowan University in the upcoming year and her conversation with the Rowan representative was productive.

“The whole conversation was extremely smooth and friendly. All of my questions regarding requirements needed and programs they had to offer were answered in depth. It made the entire process of continuing my education easier and made me look forward to my future in school,” Blaker stated.

That was a goal of the fair, said Kaitlynn Shawaryn, a CCC adviser and fair director. Shawaryn stated participants hoped “to bring four-year colleges to Camden County College in order to show and expand options to the current student body looking to further their education.”

The busiest time was from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Shawaryn said, and since the fair took place, the transfer office has been very busy as students have visited to confirm items needed for the transfer process.

CCC plans to host more transfer fairs in the spring 2019 semester, including one on the Camden campus. Dates and times have yet to be announced.
