The facilities available to rent on the Blackwood campus are Lincoln Hall, Dennis Flyer Memorial Theater, Madison Hall, Roosevelt Hall, Connector Building, Taft Hall presentation room, Papiano Gymnasium, Otto R. Mauke Community Center and cafe, Cougar Cafe, CIM building and most classrooms. The college also rents out facilities on the Camden campus.

The prices of rentals vary according to the clients’ needs, room and length of time. They range from $50 to $150 per hour.

“One of the pros of renting out campus facilities is meeting with clients and being able to make their event come to life. A con is not always being able to meet the clients’ needs due to a space or time issue,” said Kay Byrd, head of rentals on the Blackwood campus.

When renting out a facility, the college can also provide clients with audio-visual support and catering, according to the Camden County College website.

Sodexo, the contracted vendor for dining services at Camden County College, provides the food in the cafes and for all events on campus and provides catering to outside parties who rent out the facilities. Sodexo has catered gatherings ranging from small groups to more than 400 people, said Rachel Palumbo, general manager of dining services.

Clients wanting catering for an outside party are required to provide event details such as time, location, number of guests, contact information and payment information, Palumbo said. They then select the food they want for the event. The price varies depending on the number of people and type of food to be served. A 15 percent service charge is added on all food.

The options on the catering menu cover breakfast to dessert. They include Mexican food, Irish food, a fiesta taco bar and a taste of Italy.

“We’ve worked with many different companies from Cooper Health to Delaware River Port Authority and we haven’t came across one client yet that didn’t find something they loved on our menu,” Palumbo said.

However, the conference room on the Camden campus has a full-service kitchen that clients who don’t want their event catered may use. They are required to have insurance to use the kitchen.

Catering is offered in any facility that’s available to rent except in the theater, where food and drink are prohibited.
