Donald A. Borden will officially be installed as president of Camden County College this Thursday. The Board of Trustees appointed him to the post last April and he became the college’s fifth president last June.

Borden is expected to use the occasion to lay down his mission for the college, said Director of Communications Julie Yankanich.

“Our mission is always the academic achievements of our students. There are other factors that come into play for students now, such as financial feasibility of getting a college degree,” Yankanich said.

Borden is focused on working with businesses to find jobs for students, as well as enhancing programs that are already valuable to the community, such as ensuring that more area high school students earn more college-level credits before they graduate from high school to enable them to get easier access to college, Yankanich said.

The installation ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. in the Dennis Flyer Theater on the Blackwood campus.
