BLACKWOOD – The Mainstage Center for the Arts presented “Legally Blonde: The Musical” this season at Camden County College.
The South Jersey theater group performed the show Nov. 18 to 20 in the Dennis Flyer Theater on the Blackwood campus. The production starred Lindsay Deal as Elle Woods, Bill Zeoli as Emmett Forrest, Meghan Kennedy as Paulette Bonafonte, Fyar Kabia as Professor Callahan, Dereck Puyat as Warner Huntington III, Emily Marie Lewis as Vivian Kensington and Cassie Matteo as Brooke Wyndham.
The show is an award-winning musical based on the movie “Legally Blonde.” It follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal after she uses her charm to get into Harvard Law School, then realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world, according to Mainstage.org.
Audience member Chris McCullough, 21, said he enjoyed Mainstage’s performance of the show.
“I enjoyed the show a lot. It was well directed and the jokes were well timed,” McCullough said.
Said Erny Baals, 21, who was with McCullough, “I enjoyed it. I’ve also seen this in Haddonfield before and both have done a very fine job. I like the quirks that added to the production’s individuality and the pop culture references to make the show relatable for all ages.”
