Professor Robynn Anwar, the coordinator of the nursing program, described the programs and the differences between them to the several students in attendance:

The Certified Nurse Aide Program focuses on caring for patients by providing basic life needs. The aides who complete this program typically provide for their patients by providing bathing, eating, dressing and toileting care. This requires long-term care, a strong will and dedication. The program lasts one semester, provides four credits and takes place on the Camden and Blackwood campuses.

The Multi-Skilled Tech Program focuses on work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as acute care facilities, long-term care facilities, diagnostic laboratories, home care settings and physicians’ offices. The program adds a higher level of education to the training that certified nurse aides receive. The program lasts one semester, provides 14 credits and takes place on the Camden and Blackwood campuses.

Many students are enrolled in these programs each semester to further their careers.

“This program really is inspirational and makes me really want to further my healthcare career in nursing,” said student Gianna Carbo. “Being a nurse has always been my dream, and now I can pursue it.”
