BLACKWOOD – Camden County College’s Blackwood campus will host its semiannual job fair from 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 18 in the Connector Building.
Fair Coordinator Joe Pranzatelli has invited more than 100 employers who match students’ curriculum in the hope they will hire the students. About 57 companies accepted the invitation as of the end of March. Local businesses such as Armani Exchange, Buffalo Wild Wings, TD Bank and New York and Company are among them.
Each company will have a table and will send one or two representatives to the job fair.
“It’s important to make a good business relationship with these employers for our students who seek careers in their curriculum,” Pranzatelli said.
Students who participate in the job fair are more likely to be employed instantly than those who apply for jobs online or fill out long applications, Pranzatelli said. At the job fair, students will be interviewed on the spot to determine their job placement status.
Sixty-five percent of the students who attended last semester’s job fair were hired at the event, Pranzatelli said.
Students are encouraged to attend the job fair and are urged to wear business attire and bring a typed resume and portfolio. Although the fair is geared toward students who are finishing their college education with certificates and two-year degrees, it is also open to anyone seeking a job.
The job fair is also a way for the college to develop a network with local businesses, Pranzatelli said.
