Everyone who is interested in the medical field has a chance to learn more about it at info-sessions at Camden County College. They occur at the Blackwood, Cherry Hill and Camden campuses and provide information about one’s future in the medical field.

On Nov. 19, eight people gathered in Room 101 of the Connector Building on the Blackwood campus for a session on the CNA/PCT/MST field and what Camden County College offers to those interested in that field.

Camden County College students and others interested in the field may attend one of the sessions, which are scheduled for various times on the three campuses. The sessions are free of charge and no registration is needed.

“I already work in the medical field, so I came as an experiment,” Denise Davis stated. Davis is not registered for classes at Camden County College.

Robynn Anwar distributed these three items at the CNA/PCT/MST information session. By Lacey Wallen, CCC Journalism Program.

The instructor, Robynn Anwar, gave three items to everyone in the classroom. The first was a form to fill out with contact information. The second was a packet with information titled “Certified Nurse Aide & Patient Care Technician Spring 2015.” The third was Camden County College’s 2015 Academic Program Guide.

Anwar stated most of the things the attendees needed to know were in the packet and the guide.

Anwar answered the attendees’ questions. She wrote the categories “CNA,” “PCT” and “MST” on a white board in the front of the classroom. Under each, Anwar wrote details about classes and certifications from Camden County College.

Anwar said the CNA program is 90 hours. The CNA program takes place from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Fridays on the Blackwood campus. It takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays or 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Camden campus.

Anwar said the PCT program takes a semester and the MST (multi-skilled technician) program is done at the student’s leisure.

The session began around 1 p.m. and lasted until 2 p.m.

Those interested in attending one of the info-sessions should visit http://www.camdencc.edu/calendar/monthly-list-all-events.cfm for future dates.
