Add to your college experience by joining Owning Our Ignorance.

According to the Camdencc.edu website, this is a club devoted to caring about understanding complex issues and figuring out the truth

Julia Kerr 22, liberal arts major from Haddon Heights, is the president of Owning Our Ignorance. This club was established in 2010 and Kerr has been attending for three semesters.

Kerr said Owning Our Ignorance informal debate club discusses topics such as parenting, gender identity, body modification and prison systems. and many more.”

Students are not limited to what they can say;. When you are here, you should and will feel comfortable expressing yourself on what’s being discussed,” she said.

The club also raises money to give to charities. One organization is Give Well, which looks for many charities to which one donate. Once Give Well selects a certain amount of charities, it will distribute the donations throughout the selected charities.

Christopher Stump 22, from Bellmawr, a psychology major, said being in this club does not affect his schedule outside of school.

When asked why he joined this club, Stump said, “so he could expand his perspective and opinions on the many topics that they will discuss.”

One of the many things Stump said he hope to gain from this club is to “understand other people’s point of view on relevant issues relating to society.” He also said that ” being active in this club helps me express my opinions, beliefs and to discover new ways of thinking.”
